Procession of the Quiet Brave
Procession of the Quiet Brave
Along the breathing road of earth
they walk-
not with swords,
not with thunder,
but with the gentle gravity of hope.
A thousand footsteps
stitch the dust together,
as if the wounded planet
were a torn cloth
and these hands
its patient needle.
Above their heads
white placards rise
like small moons in daylight:
No War.
No Weapon.
No Threat.
No Attack.
No Aggression.
No Killing.
Words simple as rain,
yet heavy with centuries
of human sorrow.
A child walks beside a mother,
an old man beside a dreamer,
faces from many rivers of the world
flowing into one quiet sea.
Someone whispers,
“Save the Children,”
and the wind carries the plea
over roofs, over borders,
into the sleepless ears of history.
Someone lifts another sign:
“Heal the World.”
And suddenly the air feels softer,
as if the sky itself
paused to listen.
They are not conquerors-
they carry no empire in their pockets,
only fragile lanterns of mercy
burning in their chests.
Yet the road trembles slightly
beneath their calm resolve.
Because peace,
when spoken by many hearts at once,
is louder than cannons,
deeper than graves,
and stronger
than the long habit of war.
So they walk-
a river of quiet courage,
flowing toward tomorrow,
Holding in their lifted hands
the most difficult prayer
humanity has ever tried to say:
We want peace.
